The Florida State track & field teams will begin tuning up for the ACC Outdoor Championships in two weeks by spreading out across the country this weekend for big-meet competition.
FSU sophomore Carly Thomas is the first recipient of the Tracy Pepoon True Seminole Award, presented to the women's cross country runner who has gotten the most out of her ability.
Chelsea Whalen and Lakitta Johnson shined in the shot put, while Hannah Acton earned a share of second place in the pole vault Friday at the 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
