Fouad Messaoudi and Ryan Schoppe 1st and 2nd Place Men's Mile, 1st Place Distance Medley Relay - Arkansas Razorback Indoor Invitational 2023

Oklahoma State sophomores Fouad Messaoudi and Ryan Schoppe took the top two spots in the men's mile, leading four Cowboys under the sub-4 barrier, after contributing to the distance medley relay victory at the Razorback Indoor Invitational at Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Messaoudi clocked a lifetime-best 3:54.98 and Schoppe also produced a personal-best 3:55.63, as Oklahoma State became only the third program in collegiate indoor history to have four athletes run sub-4 miles in the same race, joining Oregon and Washington. Juan Diego Castro finished fifth in 3:58.15 and Alex Maier secured sixth in 3:58.31 for Oklahoma State, which also prevailed in the DMR in 9:29.08, edging Texas A&M in 9:29.69. Maier, Messaoudi and Schoppe teamed with DeJuana McArthur to help the Cowboys secure back-to-back DMR victories at the meet. |
